How to get to FIRE, faster.
How I do wealth tracking since 2018
I often tell the story of how I got fully broke, twice.
One time was in 2014.
I left Germany too fast, without enough of a plan how to make money. Reality caught up and I was in dire need to take on a job.
While that worked out, I didn’t learn my lesson.
That’s why, in 2018 I got to the same place again. Paying my last salary from my company, I noticed that I would have around 2 months of personal savings, and around 3 months of paying a small team of contractors for existing clients I had.
Not great.
“I will never get to this point again”
That’s what I said to myself in June 2018. I made a couple of uncomfortable calls and decided it’s time to freelance again.
Gone was the dream of entrepreneurship.
Just kidding - I started to indie hack on the side. It took years, but now I’m at a good place.
There’s one thing I always show people when they tell me about their financial struggles:
Track all your accounts. Every single month.
That’s the one track that allowed me to stay focused. Every month is even quite long; many people do it daily. Whatever works for you. As I was writing my invoice monthly, that rhythm made sense.
If you get paid daily: check daily.
I made a YouTube video explaining my workflow:
It’s unlisted on YouTube: Wealth Tracking in 15 Minutes per month (FREE COPY)
And the spreadsheet that you can copy and use for yourself is here: Wealth Tracking TEMPLATE (tillcarlos)
Good luck!
