About
Hi! I’m Till. I’m a coder who became a technical manager.
In 2021 one of my clients asked me to provide them with a full team. That’s when I had to level up my game and start to lead people. Hiring was just the first step.
I also had to learn to discuss requirements, figure out hiring, and actually ship stuff that works. This is my place to document what I’ve learned.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who are you?
I’m German, now 38. I started coding Pascal more than 20 years ago, then dabbled with Delphi, PHP, Java. Now I mostly code in Ruby, JS, and Rust.
What are your credentials?
I graduated in 2012 with a Diploma (eqv. to Msc.) in computer science.
Where are you working?
I’m living in between Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. That might sound weird to you until you have visited it here. It’s lovely, and the shifted time zone actually makes me more efficient.
How did you get there?
It’s a long story, but basically I traveled through asia to find a country that I liked. When I visited Vietnam I had the feeling I could learn the language. An estimated 6 months became 6 years before I reached fluency. Almost like a software project.
Where’s your user manual?
That’s an article that answers some basic questions about me. You can find it here
